North Carolina Marriage Amendment

North Carolina residents will vote this week on the Marriage Protection Amendment.  A vote for the bill will put into law the definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman.  The activity of many Christians who support it reminds me of the vote against liquor sales in our city.  Every election season, professing Christians would rally to make certain that there were no alcoholic beverages sold within the city limits.  However, a significant number of those professing Christians consumed alcoholic beverages that they bought just outside of the city limits.  Many of them were guilty of adultery, fornication, flagrant lying, and cheating, among other sins, but they rose up “righteously” indignant that anyone would opposed them.  They would write letters to the editor filled with hatred and even death threats against people on the other side of the issue.  What was even worse is that most of them seldom did anything significant for God when they were not involved in the fight for a dry city.  The only other activity I observed them getting excited about was excommunicating a pastor and driving him and his family out of the city broken and depressed.  The hypocrisy of it all was revolting.

To be honest, I wish that the Marriage Protection Amendment had never been drafted.  The reason is because it is another attempt to legislate what Christians refuse to fight for on their knees.  Further, just like the “temperance” Christians in our city, the majority of Christians in North Carolina do not actually practice true Christianity.  They attend church meetings, but do little else to publicly express the character of Christ through their lives.  They do not reach out to the poor.  They do not express love for lost souls.  In fact, they do little to be the salt and light that Christ said His church ought to be.  The truth is that throughout our nation hypocrisy is rife among professing Christians and most churches are little more than religious social clubs.  Therefore, instead of ministering to homosexuals, witnessing to them, and being an example of Jesus Christ and His love, they choose to pick a fight with them by introducing legislation.  I’ve been a Christian for over 34 years and I have never witnessed or heard of anyone delivered from darkness and brought into the kingdom of God by legislation.

Let me make several points perfectly clear.  Adultery and fornication is illegal in our state.  Public drunkenness and driving while drunk is also illegal.  Any Christian supporting this amendment that does these things is a hypocrite.  I will go further and say that if you do not love lost souls and regularly witness the love of Christ to them, including homosexuals, and you support this amendment, you are a hypocrite.  If you want to rid the world of sin, no matter what that sin is, then it is imperative to express true Christianity to sinners.  You should also do your part to make certain that church meetings are spiritual events where people can find deliverance and forgiveness.  If you support this amendment and you have been involved in causing strife in your church, you are a hypocrite.

By now, some individuals reading this may be screaming, “Who does he think he is?”  I will tell you who I am.  I am a man called by God to preach, teach, write, and otherwise present the truth.  When I was a young man, I would sit back expecting the elder minister to stand and speak against hypocrisy.  I have now become old enough that there is no one I can pass on the responsibility onto.  It’s my turn now; my turn to step up to the responsibility and stand up for truth, to take the heat, and all else that comes with the job.  I do not intend to let such hypocrisy present itself on my watch and thus be guilty of dereliction of duty.

Now that I’ve got the religious faction significantly outraged, I will go on record as supporting the Marriage Protection Amendment.  The reason is because now that the position has been brought to the forefront, I have no choice but to support it.  It is perfectly clear in God’s Word that He is opposed to all sexual sins including homosexuality.  The eschatological scriptures reveal that it will be the prevailing sexual sin of the last day’s society.  Of course there will be rampant adultery and fornication as well, but those sins are the unlawful and sinful exercise of natural affection.  Homosexuality is the sinful exercise of unnatural affection.  But I am not going to lecture the secular homosexual because it is not the sin I am focusing on in this article.  I am going to deal with professing Christians that support homosexuality.

First, realize that we are in the last days before the coming of Christ.  We are warned by Christ and the writers of the New Testament that certain things will occur before the appearing of Christ.  Two events will be the great and final deception and the great and final apostasy.  Acceptance of homosexuality as normal sexual behavior will be a key element in the great and final deception and subsequent apostasy.  There are many elements of godliness that will come under militant attack when the spirit of homosexuality is accepted by the majority of professing Christians.  We are now seeing homosexual bishops, pastors, and Christian musicians.  In fact, I have a very good source in the Christian music industry that declared the genre is becoming increasingly prevalent with professing Christian homosexuals.

The standard defense that professing Christian homosexuals and their supporters give is, “This is the way God made me.”  I believe that it is the ultimate insult to God to declare that He makes the Body of Christ to commit sex with someone of the same sex.  God is perfect and everything He does is perfect.  A Christian that commits adultery sins grievously against the Body of Christ.  He or she ought not to blame God for that.  How much worse damage is done to the Body of Christ when a Christian commits homosexuality?  I could post many scriptures, but it is sufficient to post only this passage.

“Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.  Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "the two," He says, "shall become one flesh."    But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.  Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?  For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.” (1 Cor 6:13-20 NKJV)

The truth is that God only created two people, Adam and Eve.  Everyone else that has lived on earth since were procreated by a father and mother.  This world is under a curse of sin and everything, including birth, is affected by it.  I have no doubt that people are born with proclivities that are against the nature of God.  I was born with a violent temper, among other flaws.  That does not mean that I can be angry, hateful, and even violent because “God made me that way.”  The glorious message of Christ is that when we truly, and I emphasize the word truly, surrender to God, accept the sacrifice of Christ, and believe in our hearts of hearts that He is Lord, and that God has raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.  At that point, we become new creatures in Christ.  Some of the old hereditary proclivities may remain, but that is where the Holy Spirit comes in.  The Holy Spirit is the Divine Nature that comes inside to dwell with our nature.  His job is to conform our nature so that it is like the nature of Christ.  Concerning myself, I don’t know if His job will ever be complete.  However, I no longer have a violent nature and most of the other hereditary flaws that I had are now gone.

The reason is quite simple.  Scientists, even secular ones, call DNA the Book of Life.  Christian scientists declare that it was written by God.  I believe that sin alters DNA so that we are not born with a godly nature.  If a person surrenders his or her life fully to God, he cleanses our nature from the sinful traits that we accumulated while a sinner.  The work of the Holy Spirit is to correct the altered DNA we were born with so that our nature will become as the nature of Christ.  Many homosexuals have been delivered and set free from homosexuality because of God’s love and the Holy Spirit’s work.  There are billions of individuals over the course of history since the Resurrection of Christ that have been set free from sin and their natures were completely changed.

God loves everyone, including homosexuals.  His message of love, deliverance, and forgiveness has been muted today by hypocritical and faithless Christians.  It is not going to get better, but worse.  There is still time for people to receive the gift of salvation and break free from the chains of sin.  The only requirements are that a person must have the desire to be free, fully surrenders his or her life to God, and to the subsequent work of the Holy Spirit.  That is the Gospel that delivered and saved me.  It is the Gospel that I have lived by these past 34 years.  It is the Gospel that I intend to defend and continue living by until I depart this world or Christ returns.  If you are a true Christian, you believe the true gospel of Christ.  According to the Apostle Paul, all other “gospels” and “christs” are false and the one who preaches such is accursed.

They Have no Spiritual Birthday

This is the first in a series of articles I will be presenting over the next few weeks concerning the great and final apostasy.   In my opinion, there are major indicators that we are in the last days before the Coming of Christ.   The apostasy that has led to the formation of the Emergent Church is one of those indicators.   One of its primary goals is the establishment of a global religion.   The doctrines and practices of the Emergent Church have moved into mainstream Christianity.   The result is an unprecedented paradigm shift toward acceptance of occult practices and beliefs.   Many very influential Christian leaders are promoting the Emergent Church.   If this heresy succeeds, within a few years true Christianity will be driven out of public view.   It will be replaced by an ecumenical global religion that will be very hostile to the remaining visages of godliness and godly people. I became aware of the causes and effects of th...

Which Antichrist Shall We vote For; Number One or Number Two?

This election is difficult to comment on or write about. I have so many things to say to individuals that plan to vote for Obama. If they cannot recognize the man's diabolical nature, his disastrous management of foreign policy and our nation's economy, stifling businesses with hostile regulations, illegal use of executive orders, blatant rejection of Israel, his Islamic favoritism, Marxist and Socialist tendencies, Obama Care that is driving American businesses out of the country, and the multitudinous improprieties and misuse of the presidency to reward cronies, not to mention his class warfare and other divisive activities, then they are delusional. The strength of their delusion is apparent in the fact that many of them have declared that they will vote for him no matter what. There are professing Christians white and black who would vote for him even if he declared himself to be an antichrist. Their only qualification for a president is that he has the perception o...

The Lie

Did all the significant Christians in the past 2000 years get it wrong?   Were they all ignorant of the true path to God?   Did the Apostle Paul (who wrote over two thirds of the New Testament) get it wrong?   Has God revealed His true Gospel to only individuals in this generation?   Are pagans, Muslims, and all other religions right while biblical Christianity is wrong?   If you answered “no” to these questions then you are probably not associated with the Emergent Church and its Contemplative Spirituality.   You have probably realized that sudden radical departures from historical (biblical) Christianity in the last days is not of God.   If you are sober, vigilant, and otherwise alert, you are very cautious of new revelations, and especially of individuals that are cavalier and even contemptuous about time-honored biblical truth.   Count it a blessing that you no longer fit in and appear to be associated with a shrinking minority.   ...
