Anyone who is familiar with my ministry and life will testify that I emphasize the importance of prayer. I’m not referring to merely saying prayers, but actually communicating with God. I have discovered through years of ministry that unless one is in trouble, he or she will usually pray very little if any at all. Therefore, I challenge people to pray. However, to be honest and fair, prayer is a most difficult activity. That is because to the natural mind, prayer is foolishness. In fact, people who pray appear to be talking to themselves, or to the wind. For that reason alone most professing Christians don’t pray. Most of the very few that have no prayer life, yet believe they should serve God, attempt to do so according to their natural ability.
