The Emergent/New Age call to Christian University

One of the buzz words in the Emergent/New Age church is “unity”.     It is at the heart of the global ecumenism that is being called for by many individuals associated with that heretical movement.   The push for ecumenism is wrapped in a plea for peace to obscure the beliefs and practices that duped professing Christians will be asked to condoned further down the road.   Promoters of ecumenism attempt to bully their point across by insisting the opposition is responsible for the negative view that world has of Christianity.   But is that the truth?   I do not believe that it is. To illustrate, let’s suppose for example if someone didn’t like the way golf was played.   So he formed another version of golf and played by different rules on a different type of course.    Then another person didn’t like the original or the second version, so he formed a third version.   Someone else came along, and then another version was formed, t...

The Spritual Journey of Ruth Haley Barton

Since Ruth Haley Barton has become a significant figure in bringing new doctrine into Christianity, it is important to know who she is.  Her writings are filled with Christian clichés mingled with bizarre misinterpretations of the Scriptures and quotes from Roman Catholic heritics and pagan mystics. Inserted into the mixture is a significant portion of New Age doctrine and practices.  In fact, while she unabashedly promotes Roman Catholicism and New Age beliefs and practices throughout her writing and speaking, she repeatedly chides Protestantism as being inadequate and far less spiritual than Roman Catholicism.  One has to wonder how a Christian could fall to this level of deception. While other individuals have done an excellent job of defining her by her doctrine and practices, I believe it is important to define her by her spiritual journey as well.  Rebecca Ruth Haley Barton began her spiritual journey 20 years ago when she was climbing the “ladder t...

They Have no Wedding Garments

Since the fall of Adam, there have been innumerable attempts to establish religions that omit the true God, creator of heaven and earth.   It isn’t that people were unaware of God, or that they had no opportunity to believe in or ability to obey God.   Rather, it is because God and His ways go against the nature of the flesh and the way of the world system.    Cain set out to establish his own religion. God sent His law by Moses, but His chosen people discovered that their flesh did not want to obey it.   They repeatedly rejected God and immersed themselves the religions of the nations about them.   Their apostasy brought the judgment of God upon their nation.   Another generation would repent and rise up against the apostasy.   Sadly, it seems that the apostasy would repeat with every third generation. It stands to reason that eventually there would arrive a final apostasy that will usher in the Antichrist and the false prophet.   ...
