A World of Delusion

The Apostle Paul wrote to Thessalonica, “And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” – 2 Thessalonians 211-12 The reality of that scripture being fulfilled is having to live in a world full of delusional people. Are we there yet? I think so, but their number has not maxed out. Consider that the world system in certain nations has completely cast off all moral restraints. They have gone beyond simply rejecting God to aggressively despising the concept of Him. Christianity, the religion, for the most part has fallen deeply into heresy or apathetic complacency. Many professing Christians have no taste for truth. The majority are not listening or responding to God. Their ears, heart, mind, strength, and hunger crave the offerings of the world system. They are becoming delusional because their sins are reducing love for truth. “So will I choos...

Defeating the Wiles of the Devil

Three of our enemy’s primary tactics against us are temptation , accusation, and distraction. To defeat temptation, we must be fully surrendered to God and keep our bodies under subjection. (1 Corinthians 9:27) Defeating accusation is accomplished by trusting that the glory of the Lord is your rear guard. (Isaiah 52:12 & 58:8) Distractions are defeated by making certain that our words and actions measure up to our calling. (Ephesians 4:1) All of that equals confidence, but not in the flesh. I have experienced that all temptations begin with some variation of, “Has God indeed said…” followed by a lie. All temptations should be countered with praise for all that God has provided. Satan and the world system has nothing to offer greater than what God provides. I have learned that I cannot waste time defending myself against accusations. Besides, some of them are not false, but they are well in the past and under the blood. All of them are aimed at your heart through your back. My ...

Milky Way

Well, I have a cat.  I didn’t ask for the cat.  It proactively sought attachment to my residence.  I am uncertain whether the cat even respects the fact that I have tolerated “it”.  I say “it” because I don’t know if “it” is male or female.  “It” had no name when “it” arrived that I was aware of.  My granddaughter named “it” Milky Way.  Two-word cat names are undesirable.  Name them Bo, or Spot.  It doesn’t matter as long as you say it when the chow is dropped in the bowl.  They’ll remember it and respond.  However, two-name cats may think you are calling them and someone else.  That leads to unwanted and unwarranted cat friction.  That is unsettling, especially when no other cat is present.  (The cat’s brain is wired to be unpredictable.)  I would have called “it” It.  It is a good name for a cat. Now you may wonder why I didn’t check the gender of that cat.  It because it is the most raggedy looking...

The SCOTUS Ruling...and also the night.

A lot of professing Christians are upset by the Supreme Court ruling.  I wonder how long that will last.  Usually, the initial outrage, such as it is, lasts only a few days.  Then everyone goes back to the same routine as if nothing is wrong.  The people who want to change this nation into a godless nation where hedonism is the norm are well aware of that paradigm.  Thus, there are no consequences for their actions.  They will simply endure a few days of bluster and then move on to the next step in the degradation. Let me tell you what’s going to happen—not because I’m a prophet, but because I’ve seen it before repeatedly.  There will be a number of leading Christians, denominational leaders, pastors, and of course the ever ready “talking heads” from the Christian psychological community, who will come out openly in favor of gay marriage.  “The ship has already left the harbor,” they will glibly proclaim.  Then they will set plans in mot...

No Ugly People

Every cloudy day holds the promise of sunshine.  But the sun does not always break through.  Mild depression occurs when we go for several days without sunshine.  If the sun is hidden for too long, SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) occurs.  Don’t you just love those psychological terms?  In a spiritual sense, some people are sad, not SAD, because they have not experienced love, friendship, acceptance, and other social “sunshine,” in a long period, and sometimes never.   Why am I bringing this up?  Last night, while researching I came across a website titled, “The Faces of Suicide" (the pics for this blog did not come from that site).  I stopped researching to look at each face.  The pain in their eyes, in spite of some smiling faces, was evident.  I could see the disparate longing for love and acceptance in some of them.  Additionally, some of the faces seemed to be etched with the resignation that they were too ugly, to...

Why Can't the Government Control Rioting?

A few years ago, the EPA decided that lead-based paint was a terrible hazard (never scientifically proven).  Therefore, disturbing paint, (e.g. replacing windows) inside a house built before 1978 required the contractor to follow a number of bizarre rules.  One had to attend class, become certified, and apply for a license to work such a job.  Records of had to be kept and faxed to the EPA monthly.  Several agencies, including the EPA and OSHA snooped about trying to catch offenders.   The fine for infracting the rules was $37,000 per day per incident.  That’s not all, but enough to reveal how insanely obsessed with protecting citizens the government has become. Consider all the regulations imposing penalties for infractions.  We’re fined $25 dollars for not wearing a seatbelt.  Spill coffee on our leg and a host of regulations are initiated to insure we are not burned the next time (Never mind that everyone hates tepid coffee). ...

Music of the Great Apostasy: Addendum

Churches give music preeminence because it entices people, especially young people, to “go to church,” something that parents used to have a battle with.  It is entertaining, so the church meeting isn’t as boring for disinterested youth and nominal Christians.  High energy music will draw secular people from all walks of life into the building.  Some of them will even profess Christianity, as long as it is a bare-bones version that requires no major changes and is not initiated by conviction.  In fact, the current trend on Church Growth is to make adherents by making Christianity palatable to secular people.  The actual philosophy is, “If we can’t bring them in by the biblical standard, let’s lower it to a level that is comfortable and convenient for them.” Music has been enlisted to assist in this type of conversion.  The leader of a major Christian band (at that time), “Bride”, during our debate insisted that scores of young people were getti...

Music of the Great Apostasy

A couple of decades ago, I wrote a book entitled, “The Music of the Great Apostasy.”   When I revamped my website, I did not upload the book.  I intended to revised and add to it.  I believe the tile is appropriate for this article. In the book I predicted that error in Christian music would progress until it became the music of the Great Apostasy.  We have been seeing the actuality of that prediction and it’s going to get much worse.  The prediction was simply a matter of looking down the logical road to its conclusion.  There is no way that Christianity’s music can be almost totally supplanted by a secular-inspired genre and not fall into the basement of carnality.  That moment arrived long ago.  But now the matter has gone beyond simply playing around with music styles of the world system.  Just as Christianity is apostatizing in doctrine and practice, so it is apostatizing in music.  Consider that when Israel apostatiz...

A. D.: The Theatrical Bible Version

After reading a review on A.D. The Bible Continues: “The Body is Gone,” I wondered why the reviewer didn’t denounce the film as harmful.   He pointed out the lack of the Gospel, the distortions and additions, but used the words “pleased” and “refreshing” concerning the rest of the film.   I also wondered; would pastors recommend a Bible to their congregations that had left out the Gospel, and was seeded with extra-biblical insertions and distortions.   Maybe if I expose the miniseries as a new bible version, more influential leaders would oppose it.  It could be called, The Theatrical Bible Version .  “ A ll the offensive reminders of sin are removed along with the Gospel.  I t’s entertaining, unlike the other Bible versions that are less artistic.”   The standard for compiling The Theatrical Bible Version is “shoulda, woulda, coulda.”  It should have its own tablet so that people don’t have to read it.  They can just tap o...

The Church “Triumphantly” Dead

Why are professing Christians so passive during an unprecedented encroachment of evil on Christian liberty in America?  There are the standard reasons.  They are apathetic, weak, backslidden, hypocritical, etcetera.   We could make a case for one or all of those things.  I also believe that many professing Christians abhor any negative information, especially what they believe to be “doom and gloom.”  They’ve shut their minds to everything relative to eschatology.  Thus, they cannot recognize historical precursors for full-scale violent persecution.  A large faction believes that Christ is going to “come and get us before all the bad stuff happens.”  They refuse to recognize that “bad stuff”, including the wanton slaughter of Christians, is already occurring in other nations. However, I believe that there is another major underlying factor that may be responsible for all the other factors resulting in obstinate passivity.  And...

A.D.: The Heresy Continues

At the end of this article is an email from David Jeremiah’s office.  It is in response to a question concerning his involvement with New Age/Roman Catholic Roma Downey and her husband Mark Burnett.  There is no answer in the response to the question of why Jeremiah joined with Downey and Burnett to write two books for “A.D.: The Bible Continues.”  I watched the interview of Downey and Burnett in Jeremiah’s church at the link provided.   As I listened to Downey and Burnett explain their production, several thoughts came to mind.  First, I thought, “Wolves, sheep’s clothing.”  In other words, there is no superficial way to determine that they are not true Christians.  However, their fruit is New Age mysticism combined with Roman Catholicism.    Their production, “A.D.: The Bible Continues,” in my opinion is a mixture of truth, heresy, and extra-biblical material.  It is perplexing that professing Christians continue to ...
