Fellowship with Christ

When Jesus Christ came to earth, even though He was previously in the form of and equal with God, He took on the form of a servant.   The Apostle Paul lays this out clearly in his letter to the church at Philippi .   Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. If I could point to one factor that has altered a significant segment of institutional Christianity and morphed it into an anemic, carnal, and pagan-influenced religion, I would point to the hirelings.   Peter warned us of a last days influx of hirelings and other opportunistic individuals coming in to fleece God’s people.   In fact, he devoted an entire chapter to these diabolical invaders.   But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.   And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.   By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.
