The Sandy Hook Massacre: why?

I started writing this yesterday, but couldn’t finish it.   There was simply too much information to process and too little time to contemplate.   I watched with great sadness and listened with my heart weeping to the details of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.   I wept as I prayed for the families and friends of the victims.   I will continue to pray for them faithfully every day.   What unspeakable sorrow must grip their hearts right now.   It is as if Satan himself decided to wreak darkness on a particular part of our planet to make a point.   The point is that our world and nation has yielded to many of his demands.   It is as if he now has enough of the world’s population on his side to strike at will, pouring out his fury because he knows that his time is short.   The war against righteousness has become more intense and brutal. At various time throughout the day I watched as the details emerged about the vic...

The Obama reelection; what do we do now?

A great number of individuals are discouraged and even depressed about the Obama reelection and they are uncertain about the future.   They watched as the worst president in the nation’s history won reelection with the nastiest campaign coupled with widespread voter fraud.   It was obvious throughout the campaign that in Obama’s camp the election was never about the American people.   It was about winning at all costs.   When you have an elected Democrat voting several times for Obama and openly bragging about it, the handwriting is on the wall.   One man bragged on Facebook that a friend of his had voted 60 times for Obama.   That is a flagrant attack on Democracy.   Of course, the cesspools of national media were also involved in the aberration of election by hook and crook.   People of this type are the ones who win elections for despots in other nations.   Obviously, they care nothing for honor or decency, but only for perpetuating a d...

Focusing on the Eternal Perspective

In Matthew 24, Jesus’ disciples pointed to all the magnificent structures as if to say, “Look what mankind has done?   Isn’t it marvelous?”   Christ immediately gave them the eternal perspective.   He reminded them that they were in the temporal realm, and then taught them about the ends times.   The Apostle Paul also kept the eternal perspective a constant theme throughout his epistles.   If the kingdom of God is our goal, then it ought to be all about that, and not about this temporal realm.   But our humanity gets tangled in the affairs of this life to the extent that we have difficulty, often to the point of blindness, grasping but failing to maintain a hold on the eternal perspective.   That error can cause us not only to miss God’s will, but to sin against Him.   More insidious, it can lead us into entry level deception.   What I mean by entry level deception is deception that appears harmless, that seems to have little consequen...

Pray

Anyone who is familiar with my ministry and life will testify that I emphasize the importance of prayer.   I’m not referring to merely saying prayers, but actually communicating with God.   I have discovered through years of ministry that unless one is in trouble, he or she will usually pray very little if any at all.     Therefore, I challenge people to pray.   However, to be honest and fair, prayer is a most difficult activity.   That is because to the natural mind, prayer is foolishness.   In fact, people who pray appear to be talking to themselves, or to the wind.   For that reason alone most professing Christians don’t pray.   Most of the very few that   have no prayer life, yet believe they should serve God, attempt to do so according to their natural ability.   They fail repeatedly, and usually settle back into something they can accomplish without prayer.   Sadly, they never achieve their potential and are no sig...

The Clear Truth About The Election Deception

I wish there were a warning label with every offering of deception. It ought to read, “Danger: ingesting deception has been known to cause sin, rebellion, hedonism, hypocrisy, delusion, and may be fatal.” Instead the warning is in God's Word. There are also warnings that come from people whom God sends. But sometimes warnings are not enough. Some people are so strongly deceived that a clear picture has to be presented so they can understand and be delivered. Here is the clear picture. I will begin with this passage from Jeremiah. “The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with wh...
