The Day of the Hireling

If I could point to one factor that has altered a significant segment of institutional Christianity and morphed it into an anemic, carnal, and pagan-influenced religion, I would point to the hirelings.   Peter warned us of a last days influx of hirelings and other opportunistic individuals coming in to fleece God’s people.   In fact, he devoted an entire chapter to these diabolical invaders.   But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.   And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.   By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. The Last Independence Day Celebration

Today many Americans will celebrate the birthday of a great nation.   It is quite possible that it may be the last time we celebrate that event.   Only people who believe that decadence is progress would think otherwise.   The political, cultural, and religious sectors are in full-blown moral deterioration.   I liken the religious sector as the immune system of a nation.   When Christianity is strong, the diabolical diseases that infect our society are driven back.   However, the immune system of America is very weak and on the verge of collapse.   It has been compromised from within and from the top down.   Christian leaders did not resist infiltration of New Age mystics and other individuals hostile to Christianity, but instead have accepted their pagan mysticism.   The so-called laity of professing Christians are also to blame for this tragedy of errors.   They failed to study and gain knowledge from God’s word, they ignored the ...

The Lie

Did all the significant Christians in the past 2000 years get it wrong?   Were they all ignorant of the true path to God?   Did the Apostle Paul (who wrote over two thirds of the New Testament) get it wrong?   Has God revealed His true Gospel to only individuals in this generation?   Are pagans, Muslims, and all other religions right while biblical Christianity is wrong?   If you answered “no” to these questions then you are probably not associated with the Emergent Church and its Contemplative Spirituality.   You have probably realized that sudden radical departures from historical (biblical) Christianity in the last days is not of God.   If you are sober, vigilant, and otherwise alert, you are very cautious of new revelations, and especially of individuals that are cavalier and even contemptuous about time-honored biblical truth.   Count it a blessing that you no longer fit in and appear to be associated with a shrinking minority.   ...
