One of the buzz words in the Emergent/New Age church is “unity”. It is
at the heart of the global ecumenism that is being called for by many
individuals associated with that heretical movement. The push for ecumenism is wrapped in a plea
for peace to obscure the beliefs and practices that duped professing Christians
will be asked to condoned further down the road. Promoters of ecumenism attempt to bully their
point across by insisting the opposition is responsible for the negative view
that world has of Christianity. But is
that the truth? I do not believe that it
is.
To illustrate, let’s suppose for example if someone didn’t
like the way golf was played. So he
formed another version of golf and played by different rules on a different type
of course. Then another person didn’t like
the original or the second version, so he formed a third version. Someone else came along, and then another
version was formed, then another, and another, until there were nearly six
thousand versions of golf. After a long
period, many of the leaders of the different versions realized that people were
not attending the games because they were confused by the many versions. So they had a conference and decided that
they should all come together as one version.
The problem is that if they did not all revert back to the original
version, it would still be confusing.
Further, one could not honestly call it golf.
It is the same with the Emergent/New Age church’s particular
brand of ecumenism. Out of the several
thousands of Christian denominations, fellowships, and movements, there are not
many that have acceptable doctrine. In
fact, some have horrible doctrine and there are a number that cannot truthfully
be considered true Christianity. Further,
the Emergent/New Age ecumenism has the stated goal of re-merging Protestantism
with the Roman Catholic Church. The
Roman Catholic Church with all its rituals, heresies, pompous hierarchy, and
apparitions, certainly does not reflect true Christianity. Emergent/New Age leaders have gone so far as
to declare that Christianity should also unite with Islam and the pagan
religions. I cannot imagine unifying
with professing Christians who accept paganism, contemplative spirituality,
and other heretical doctrines and practices.
How could true Christians unite with a groups or churches that accept
homosexuality? The fact that we are we
even discussing such a possibility speaks to the deception and apostasy of this
time.
We have arrived at this point because diabolical individuals
have crept into leadership of nearly all Christian denominations,
organizations, and movements. As
fantastical as it seems, just as extreme liberals have wormed their way into
the power sectors in the secular realms, apostates have followed the same
diabolical plan of Satan in the religious realm. The takeover has been occurring in the
liturgical denominations for decades. And
why wouldn’t they do such a thing? The
doors have been wide open for many years.
The apathy, complacency, lethargy, spiritual weakness, and lack of knowledge
in the membership have removed all the defenses. Now these impostors have targeted and conquered
nearly all the evangelical leadership positions. They fulfill the prophecy about deceptive and
evil people leading many astray in the last days. Having gained top leadership in Christianity
and slowly poisoned it with liberalism and heresies, they now intend further
pollute it by calling for “Christian university”. University means “unity in diversity”. The university that they insist on is in
fact the merger of all false religions and the elimination of true Christianity.
It is for the purpose of calling darkness light and light darkness. Therefore, the call for unity in diversity is
really a statement that there is no such thing as sin or that there is nothing
wrong with sin, and that true Christianity is a hindrance to all good. Or as Satan would put it, “Has God really
said that it is sin? If you do it, you
will become as God.” The reason why those
leaders are calling for ecumenism is because they have become so deceived and
many are apostate. They can no longer
recognize the contrast between good and evil.
This present call to ecumenism is not about mere unity, but about
gaining control. The true church is in
perfect unity because it is joined to the Head, which is Christ. However, the true church is not necessarily
an institution, but an organism. God’s
adds daily the ones that truly surrender to Him. Somewhere in the world, in spite of all the
heresy, the evil works of darkness, and even threat of harsh persecution,
someone is being added to His church. They
are being added without Popes, bishops, cardinals, priests, or any heretical
person that wishes to insert him or herself into the process. They were not brought into the kingdom of God
by a piece of paper, or the permission of a pompous and presumptuous
individual, but by faith and confidence in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and
the grace of God. I am very grateful
that God provided the atonement as the means for those who truly surrender to
Him to unite with the true church. There
can be no unity with individuals who have denied the atonement without the
consequence of joining them in hell.
Throughout Christian history egocentric men have attempted
to insert themselves in the process of salvation, attempting to take charge of
it, as would Simon the sorcerer had not Peter rebuked him. Although it does not seem to be perfect, over
the two millennia since the resurrection of Christ, billions of people have
been brought in the kingdom of God. It
would take a number of large books to list all the other accomplishments of
Christianity. In spite of this truth,
there are still people who insist that Christianity is a failure because it
refuses to unite with heretical and fringe groups. The fact is that Christianity fails when it
refuses to identify itself by the standard of God’s word. Further, any professing Christian that is not
identified as such by God’s word is a failure.
If any church refuses to accept the identity provided by God’s word, why
should any true Christian wish to unite with them? As they drift further from the original
pattern, they will become influenced more by the world system and its
paganism. Uniting with them will not
make them better. However, it will
corrupt the ones who have not stained their garments with evil.
The discerning person can see that there is a clear line of
demarcation between the deceived and the true people of God. The deceived cannot see anything wrong with
evil, but have all sorts of problems accepting and doing good works. The unity that they want is not with true
Christianity. The reason is because even
they recognize that it will not blend. They
do well not to call it Christianity. There
can be no unity between good and evil. A
mixture of light and darkness produces shadows, which is neither light nor
darkness. Ecumenism is a lukewarm mixture, not hot or
cold, just a lot of smoke. It is not for
me and my household. Like one godly old minister
once said, “I was born in the fire, and I’m not about to die in the
smoke.”
Amen! This false unity is not for me either!!! I will continue to look to the LORD and to His Word.
